Future Music Platinum Award, Vienna Instruments ELEMENTS
“The boffins at VSL have really let their hair down with a percussion library to die for.”
Indeed ‘well recorded’ doesn’t begin to do these samples justice. They simply ooze out of the speakers with a beautifully full bass and a treble that’s shiny, harsh, gritty and wonderfully defined – at the same time. [...] the 62-inch Tam-Tam, which has been struck by objects such as metal rods, cardboard tubes – even an egg cutter – to provide its myriad samples, is simply one of the most unique instruments I’ve ever heard. [...] There’s something wonderfully rooted about this collection. The recording quality is simply sublime for starters, and the instruments resonate so fully throughout all the patches that you can almost feel their weight. [...] If you want to create soundscapes that are free from artificial, synthesized sound and either have these standalone or have them act as layers within your production work then I can’t recommend VSL’s Elements highly enough.
Jono Buchanan, Future Music, May 2007

The 11GB Elements occupies more of a niche market, but it's a pretty nice niche.
